Northeastern University’s Master of Science in Information Systems, offered by the College of Engineering, prepares you for in-demand careers at the intersection of business, IT management, and engineering—even if you don’t have a STEM or tech-focused bachelor’s degree.
Information Systems students graduate as evolved, dynamic application engineers, prepared to improve processes and solve complex business and societal challenges. Through rigorous coursework and experiential opportunities, you’ll be ready to go beyond programming to become an IT leader, delivering systems that are safe, secure, and advance society.
The MS in Information Systems program at Northeastern has successfully placed past graduates at industry leaders such as Google, Microsoft, Deloitte, Oracle, and IBM.
We offer two options to earn your degree:
"I have the confidence and toolkits I can use for future employment. You do not wait until graduation; you learn something and then test yourself on co-op, which is extremely important."
—Archil Lelashvili, MS 2022, Information Systems
Whether you’re a recent graduate and want to move into new technologies in the information systems field, or you currently work in the industry and are ready to transform your career to leadership, the MS in Information Systems is designed for students with different technical backgrounds.
The MSIS-bridge program prepares students with non-STEM, non-technical bachelor’s degrees to become information systems professionals. Core courses will give you the engineering foundation needed to excel in the classroom and the IT sector. Upon completion, you will earn an MS in Information Systems degree.
