Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology

Earn your Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology (SLP) at Northeastern University and make a lasting impact on people’s lives. Since 1965, our speech-language pathology graduate program has combined hands-on clinical training with academic excellence, empowering professionals to help children with autism, survivors of stroke, and students with speech disorders communicate effectively.

If you have not yet completed the prerequisite courses for our traditional MS in SLP program, you can apply to the Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology—Connect program to complete the bridge coursework online. Once you complete the prerequisites, you'll be automatically enrolled in the MS in SLP program.

In this program, you’ll have the opportunity to:

  • Gain skills at an on-campus speech-language clinic while working with members of the local community who present with a broad range of cognitive-communication needs.
  • Apply your learning by completing four semesters of clinical experience, both on and off campus.
  • Forge connections with world-recognized faculty who provide the opportunity to apply classroom theory to evidence-based SLP interventions in the field.
  • Attract employers following graduation with eligibility for state and national licensure.

Please note that students who begin their coursework in the MS in Speech-Language Pathology program through the Charlotte campus are eligible to receive a 35% tuition scholarship.

Further your expertise with a graduate certificate

The interdisciplinary certificate in early intervention (EI) is an online program designed for students who enjoy working with young children and their families. Through coursework and practicum experiences, students are prepared to work with infants and toddlers with known disabilities or those who are at risk for developmental delay. Program graduates meet the state certification requirements for early intervention personnel at the advanced provisional level. Applicants can apply for both the EI certificate program and the speech-language pathology master’s program through CSDCAS.
