Master of Science in Artificial Intelligence

Northeastern University’s Master of Science in Artificial Intelligence (MSAI) provides a comprehensive framework of theory and practice in the emerging field of AI. The program delivers the foundational knowledge needed to explore key contextual areas and complex technical applications of AI systems.

The curriculum incorporates elements of data science, machine learning, and human-computer interaction—enabling you to pursue a holistic and interdisciplinary course of study while preparing for a position in AI research, operations, software, or hardware development, or a doctoral degree in a sector poised for explosive growth.

Unique advantages of the Master of Science in Artificial Intelligence:

  • Choose two electives from one of five specializations: vision, intelligent interaction, robotics and agent-based systems, machine learning, or knowledge management and reasoning.
  • Specialize in one of five industry-aligned concentrations at our Boston campus:
    • Machine learning or robotics and agent-based systems (offered by Khoury College)
    • Computer vision, energy systems, or continuous process engineering (offered by College of Engineering)
