Master of Science in Economics

An advanced economic foundation provides a path to success across industries. Northeastern University’s Master of Science in Economics is a STEM-designated program designed to prepare you for a wealth of career opportunities or to pursue your PhD. Part business and part social science, the curriculum is grounded in applied economic theory, quantitative methods, and policy. As a student, you’ll focus on application and practice while developing your presentation skills.

In our program, you will:

  • Have the opportunity to gain professional experience with an optional six-month co-op assignment working for one of our 3,500-plus employer partners.
  • Earn your degree flexibly as a part- or full-time student, taking as few as eight classes throughout the course of the program.
  • Tailor your degree to your professional goals and interests.
  • Graduate prepared for various careers in research and development, government, finance, healthcare, and more.
  • Hone your computational modeling and programming skills as you earn a concentration in Data Science.

For fall 2024, students admitted to the MS in Economics program in Seattle are eligible for a merit scholarship of 50% tuition.
