Master of Sports Leadership

Designed in collaboration with Northeastern University's Center for the Study of Sport in Society, the Master of Sports Leadership program will give you an understanding of the concepts necessary to run functional areas of a sports organization or team, including marketing, finance, athletic administration, and corporate sponsorships. This program will empower you to responsibly and successfully utilize sports to foster diversity, prevent violence, and improve the health of local and global communities.

In this program, you'll have the opportunity to:

  • Complete your degree 100% online with a curriculum that is accredited by the Commission on Sport Management Accreditation (COSMA)—which provides the only discipline-specific accreditation in sport management.
  • Access our extensive alumni network of more than 560 sports professionals who work at industry-leading organizations including the Boston Bruins, Boston Red Sox, Carolina Panthers, Canadian Olympic Committee, Major League Soccer, and numerous athletic departments at universities, colleges, and high schools across the U.S.
  • Participate in the intensive one-week Summer Institute in Boston, an integral educational experience that enables students to network and cultivate lifelong relationships with industry leaders, peers, and alumni.

"Courses within sports leadership examine the business and social issues that are critical to effective sports leadership. It gives you the chance to assess and refine your leadership abilities so you can inspire, develop, and motivate people. Perhaps, more importantly, you can understand how to develop and lead teams by fostering the appropriate culture and positively effecting change.”
