Master of Architecture

Architects engage with the world’s most complex issues, from climate change to social and economic diversity. Northeastern University’s Master of Architecture is designed to move architects to the forefront of the conversation around tomorrow’s built environments, the future of our cities, and cultural preservation.

Our program is a STEM-certified degree accredited by the National Architectural Accreditation Board that offers a pathway toward licensure. You’ll engage in a curriculum centered around architecture’s role in contemporary urban issues, learning alongside experts in architecture, planning, and landscape architecture.

The physical and cultural context of Boston is an inspiring laboratory for the program’s design studios, and you’ll have the opportunity to engage in innovative projects within the real estate and construction industries and participate in current policy debates from the inside. You’ll be able to personalize your specialization in areas including sustainable urban environments, information design, and data visualization.

The program is offered as a two- or three-year program, depending on your background, experience, and qualifications. As a graduate, you’ll have a unique balance of technical, theoretical, and strategic tools to make a real difference in the profession.
